Mobile Shop: Job opportunities are for men only
Submitted by mostafa on Fri, 2009-02-13 18:03
I receive wrong emails often. Sometimes they are funny but usually plain boring. I also receive around 5000 spam messages per week.
Today I received the following email from Mobile Shop HR department. They have two job opportunities. The first is something called "Sales Maker" and it seems to be gender specific. The other is called "Net woek Admin" and it requires, among a list of technical stuff, good command of English language.
Language issues aside. Is this sex limitation legal, specially when it is not a job that requires strenuous activity (and shouldn't they leave this for the person to decide)?

How to listen to live streaming internet radio in your car
Submitted by mostafa on Thu, 2008-08-21 00:59You can listen to live streaming internet radio if you have a mobile phone with a 3G connection. The phone should be able to run J2ME MIDP applications (most do). Download and install MFRadio. It is open source and free. MFRadio can only play Mp3 streams.
The second step is to be able to connect your phone to your car stereo. This is highly variable, so you will have to find this out on your own.

4 years of Gmail
Submitted by mostafa on Tue, 2008-04-22 20:03
4 years passed today since I signed up for a gmail account. I received an invitation via Blogger. This was about 3 weeks after Google announced the 1GB inbox.
This secured my best email address:

At that time, this was a mindbogglingly huge webmail inbox. Yahoo! & Hotmail offered few MegaBytes for each user, as far as I can remember nothing more than 5MB.

1. Click on the "Events" link found in the left menu of your Facebook account.
2. On the top of the page you'll find a link called "Export Events". Click on it, and copy the URL that appears in the pop-up window.
3. Go to Google Calendar, and press on the "Add" button, found in the "Manage Calendars" box there. Then select "Add by URL".

Facebook sucks?
Submitted by mostafa on Wed, 2007-04-11 03:43It is wrong to think that following your friends online will introduce you to new ideas, opportunities and information. However, if you spend the same amount of time reading other people ideas but following a certain topic that interest you. This will probably expose you to more information, viewpoints, ideas, etc..
Curiosity killed the cat!
I don't know were did the above proverb come from. But I know how curiosity came to exist. It could be defined as the motivation to explore or examine. Curiosity is a hard wired innate behavior in many animals including invertebrates like fish. It is an instinct that probably increases our chances of survival. Simply by increasing our chances of getting food and/or sex. It is also important for learning and

Google maps mashups

Created mashups of several weblogs.
!Omraneya
Your favourite cheap automated Egyptian blogs aggregator. BTW, not all posts appearing on the main page will be displayed on the map. The admin's favorited posts only, as there is no way I can find the RSS of the whole thing.

!Global Voices Online
This one is pretty cool. Global Voices Online is a non-profit global citizens’ media project. Basicly a selection of what bloggers around the world are saying. Hand picked and refined.
